Today, Governor Sisolak announced a new emergency directive that addresses large group capacity and several other industry-specific guidelines. He noted that numbers have been trending in a positive direction, and that has made this possible. The Governor encouraged groups to come to NV instead of states that are lifting restriction, promising that Nevada will be the safest destination for groups, families, and event participants. The new guidelines go into effect at 12:01am on October 1st.
The current limit for gatherings is capped at 50 people, this directive increases the number to 250 people or 50% capacity, whichever is less. This number is in addition to any staff that are working or performing at the event. Other guidelines include:
- New specifications for faith gatherings, increase in capacity
- Large venues (over 2500) can host up to 10% of capacity if social distancing is possible and enforced
- A safety plan must be submitted, only the state can approve large gatherings
- Sections must be made in the venue of 250 people and must have distinct, separate entrance, exits, and bathrooms
- Conventions, conferences, tradeshows
- 250 attendees not including staff or performers
- May have 1000 attendees if plan is approved and broken up into groups
- Allows certain live entertainment gatherings if safety plan is submitted
- Playgrounds allowed if local government approves
- Open houses and showings now allowed
- Youth sports and adult recreation- Hopeful for an announcement regarding new guidelines in 7-10 days
