Former president Donald Trump is dominating the headlines this week.  Republicans from across the country met as planned for the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee despite the close call on former President Donald Trump’s life on Saturday.  Former President Donald Trump’s chances to win the election have soared since he survived the assassination attempt. And weeks of anticipation came to an end Monday when former President Donald Trump announced his running mate — Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance. In Nevada news this week, a Nye County judge and former Las Vegas councilwoman is facing federal charges of wire fraud and conspiracy after authorities accused her of raising more than $70,000 for a fallen officers memorial and spending it on herself. Michele Fiore, 53, of Pahrump was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Las Vegas. These news links so much more below!

NLV approves new sidewalk vendor rule

The North Las Vegas City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved an ordinance that would tighten regulations on sidewalk vendors. Sidewalk vendors operating in North Las Vegas will have to pay a $150 license fee every year. (Las Vegas Review Journal)

The Clark County School Board voted against appealing a May 29 court ruling that ordered the district to rescind a policy limiting the powers of its four nonvoting trustees.
