Daily Update- June 30, 2020 COVID-19 Update, New Outreach

Today both Nevada and Clark County had a record-breaking day in both positive tests and overall testing numbers. DHHS reported 562 new cases and three COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours. There are now 18,456 confirmed cases and 507 deaths in the state. Nevada has reported its five highest days for COVID-19 cases in the past week. Its biggest jump was 1,099 on Friday, June 26, followed by 736 cases on Saturday, 734 cases on Sunday and now 562 cases reported Monday. Testing also increased, with 8,556 being conducted in the past day. The state COVID-19 dashboard with all numbers and statistics can be found HERE.

With a rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Clark County occurring in the Hispanic community, county leaders, health experts and partners announced a new outreach effort to boost understanding among Hispanic residents of all ages about the need to wear face coverings in public places, visit free testing sites, and find resources to help protect themselves and their families from the virus.
