Daily Update- July 22, 2020 Las Vegas City Council, Cannabis Compliance Board

Las Vegas City Manager Scott Adams gave a report during the City Council meeting today to go over parts of the COVID-19 recovery.  Since the White House designated Clark County as a red zone, he has asked for more enforcement out in the community regarding how businesses are complying with the Governor’s mandates. This includes wearing face coverings, social distancing, and other compliance issues. The initial enforcement check is being done by City of Las Vegas employee ambassadors, and is then followed up by someone from the Business Licensing Department. One of the biggest issues in enforcement has been youth sports fields, as there continues to be adults congregating on sidelines. More information about the new enforcement program is HERE.

The Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) had their inaugural board meeting to consider the adoption of Permanent Regulations of the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Regulations (NCCR).  All proposed regulations were passed unanimously with some small language changes.  They lifted the hold on Transfers of Interest, noting that there is now capability for transfers. The CCB forms were also approved, which can be found on the CCB website. The discussion on future agenda items are regarding the concerns with licensing renewals, they will need an update from the director on how many are out of compliance. There will also be ongoing discussion on transfers of interest and discussions around timelines.
