On Monday, August 16th, Governor Sisolak held a press conference to announce Emergency Directive 049, which creates a process for a mask exception for large indoor large events within counties that have “substantial” or “high” COVID-19 transmission. This is not a requirement to show proof of vaccination to attend a large event. It is an optional exception to the general mask requirement if the event operator chooses to require proof of vaccination for all attendees. Guidance and more information regarding this directive can be found HERE.
Following this press conference, the Las Vegas Raiders announced that they will require proof of Covid-19 vaccination for Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium. The policy will take effect for the first regular season home game, September 13th against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. The Raiders are the first team in the National Football League to announce a vaccine/no mask policy.
Today, Nevada Health Response announced that 50% of eligible Nevadans are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
