A quick, but important update today! The Interim Finance Committee met and voted to approve CARES Act funds for the Governor’s Finance Office, the Nevada Arts Council, Behavior Health Services, Child Care, and JAG. They also approved a Legislative Declaration of Fiscal Emergency. This declaration allows funds from the “Rainy Day Fund” to be accessed.

Today, Governor Sisolak continued the waiver for work search requirement for unemployment claims. He stated in his press release that although some businesses are beginning to open up, the unemployment rate continues to rise and many Nevadans are still in need of financial assistance.
